Brass Wire (Oboe)

This soft brass wire is used to control the opening size of an oboe reed while helping prevent air leaks. Favoured by many players for its flexibility and responsiveness, it is most commonly used for short scrape (European-style) oboe reeds.

Some players also choose this wire for English horn reeds when a softer fel is preferred as it is slightly thinner and more pliable than traditional English horn wire.
